Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is getting involved in a reward fund that has been established to find the people responsible for beating and raping a woman in Dallas after the Mavericks' championship-clinching Game 6 victory in Miami.
Cuban is pledging $20,000 to the fund that already has raised $15,000, according to MyFOXDFW.com.
The website said the woman was attacked in the early morning hours of June 13 while walking to her car from a bar in the Knox-Henderson district.
Police sources told FOX 4 News that the victim was at J Black's Feel Good Lounge on Henderson Avenue with friends watching the Mavericks win a title.
While walking alone to her car after the game, she was beaten, raped and left for dead.
"The men hit the woman in the face with their fists until she was unrecognizable and then they sexually assaulted her," the site stated. "Sources said she was found on the sidewalk on nearby Garrett Avenue several hours later. She was unconscious and without clothes."
A friend of the victim told the news station in a statement: "She was like every other Mavs fan, out watching the game and celebrating in Dallas. She just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time that night. It could have happened to any woman in Dallas."
According to the report, police are waiting for DNA results from a lab to see whether there is a match in the criminal database.
