Viewers who tuned in to WFAA-Channel 8 in Dallas on Friday night were given more of a stand-up comedy routine than their anticipated local weather report when Texas Rangers starting pitcher Derek Holland made an appearance on the newscast.

The Rangers pitcher, who studied Radio-TV-Film at Wallace State Community College in Alabama, showed he was obviously a much better pitcher in college than television student.

Holland participated in the weather segment and laughs ensued as he struggled through his best weatherman impression.

Viewers were also treated to Holland's now famous impression of legendary Chicago Cubs announcer Harry Caray, who broke down the weekend rain predictions for the North Texas area.

Holland first debuted the Caray impression during Game 5 of the World Series when, during an in-game interview with the national FOX broadcast team, Holland called plays as Caray as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger during the game.  The videos of the impressions quickly went viral.

Holland has also spent time as a pitchman for the Dallas Stars, where local radio commercials feature Holland pitching tickets to his favorite hockey team as the former Governor of California.

Pitchers and catchers report to Arizona for the Rangers in less than two weeks, and if this pitching thing doesn't work out for the talented, young lefthander... there's always a career in comedy.
